Practicing Humility

Humility

Isaiah 2:11 (NIV2011) 11 The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

We have to be careful when it comes down to allowing our arrogance to take over our minds. Being arrogant puts us in a position where we praise more of ourselves while at the same time, pushing God to the side. When we do this, we’re basically putting ourselves before The Lord almighty. Some scripture that constantly reminds me of the results of being prideful comes from Proverbs 16:18 (NIV). Where it tells us that that “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” If we are going to follow Jesus, we will need to practice humility just as Christ did. Doing this will be honoring and pleasing towards him.

Dear Father, help me to be humble as your Son Jesus Christ. Help me to focus on you and to glorify you name. Amen.
